A dated shopping centre in Ballincollig, near Cork, was in need of revitalisation to better compete with other retail destinations in the area. The centre no longer aligned with current behavioural consumer needs.
Branding & Strategy
The goal was to reposition the centre with a strong local identity and a refreshed environment to attract both shoppers and tenants.
We carried out a full renaming and rebranding, drawing inspiration from a nearby historic landmark, the new name ‘Castle West’ was developed along with a bold visual identity.

Asset Enhancement
This was paired with extensive refurbishments including updated interior and exterior finishes, new signage, enhanced exterior lighting, wayfinding systems, and car park upgrades – all designed to elevate the customer experience and boost the centre’s appeal.
Impact
The transformation has successfully repositioned Castle West as a vibrant, relevant alternative to other shopping centres in Cork. The new identity, combined with the environmental enhancements, has increased the centre’s visibility, improved customer flow, and created a stronger platform for attracting and retaining retailers.
